Volunteer

Our school is held together by community — and volunteer support is an important part of school life. Volunteering helps us ensure safety and order during classes, run school events with care, and create a warm environment where every child feels they belong.

Parent volunteering

Each family takes on 2 shifts during the school year:

one hall monitoring shift during classes (helping with organization and supervision in common areas);
one shift during a school holiday/event (preparation, assistance with running the event, coordination).

If preferred, shifts can be opted out of by making a $50 contribution to the Parent Committee fund.

Beyond shifts, parents can get involved in many other ways — from organizing celebrations and decorations to supporting the library, photo/video coverage, or administrative tasks. Even 1–2 hours of your time can sometimes save an entire event (and a few of the organizers' nerves).

The school also constantly needs adult help to temporarily cover for teachers during breaks. Please consider stepping in — even a few minutes or a few hours of your time will truly benefit the children.

Student volunteering

We also encourage students (especially upper grades) to get involved in school volunteering — it builds responsibility and leadership and gives them the opportunity to contribute to their school and community.

Forms of student volunteering may include:

helping during school events (greeting guests, seating, technical support);
helping younger students (e.g., during breaks, organized activities);
participating in the preparation of performances, presentations, themed projects;
supporting the library (sorting books, preparing reading selections).

How to Get Involved

Information about volunteer duties and needs is shared during registration and throughout the year via school announcements and communication channels.

In short: School is a team sport. And yes — sometimes we need “extra players,” especially before celebrations.
